Here’s the recipe for Skillet Chicken Sausage with Apples
Ingredients
1 tablespoon, plus 2 teaspoons olive oil
4 chicken sausages, sliced
3 small apples, cored and cut into chunks (I used Fuji apples)
2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 cup white wine
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
How to Cook Chicken Sausage in a Pan
1. Warm 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken sausages to the pan, and cook until browned (about 4-5 minutes), stirring often.
2. When the chicken sausages are browned, transfer them to a plate.
3. Add 1 tablespoon of the olive oil to the skillet and add the apple chunks. Sprinkle the apples with the sugar, and cook until light golden brown. Stir occasionally, for about five minutes. When apples are slightly tender, transfer to a plate.
4. Return the chicken sausages to the pan, and add the white wine and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a boil
5. Reduce heat and simmer until the wine combination has thickened, approximately another five minutes.
6. Return the apple chunks until they are heated through. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Serve immediately.

Yum! I didn’t have any white wine so I substituted cran-grape juice. Sweet and yummy. Careful not to overcook the sausage. I used Hillshire farms chicken garlic sausage.
